Tough Season

2018 will be remembered in these parts as one of the toughest drought years on record. We planted about 25% of our fields to wheat hoping to build some ground cover on old chickpea ground. The crop was very patchy with only 10mm of rain during the growing season. Harvest was completed in a few days – not a few weeks as normal. Good quality wheat with almost no screenings averaged 0.3t/ha.

As I say after most hard years, we put this one behind us and look forward to better crops next season.
Best wishes All for 2019 from David and Peter Ricardo
