Amazing January rainfall of 150 to 200mm across the farms, has boosted our developing dryland cotton crop. Its just like an irrigation, as the cotton is sitting on a full moisture profile.
The crop is at different stages since only half had the earlier December storms, but it has come through a handful of problems. Heat had been an issue early with young seedlings emerging in November, then December saw several sand blasting events, some herbicide damage and even water logging with this January rain.
Some areas were lost and some replanted, but it’s great to see the cotton grow through these problems. More updates more regularly from here on during this exciting time.
