Sept Crop Gallery

Its turning a bit dry, 8 weeks since last rain but all crops are growing well and using the stored moisture at depth. The pictures above show chickpeas just starting to flower – they have come along way in the last few weeks. Canola just passing full flower is podding well. No insect pressure yet (frosts last week). At 2 metres tall, I tell my kids “stay close-dont get lost” because the crop is like a jungle. The last picture above shows durum wheat looking very even, with some heads starting to emerge. 50 mm of rain now would be nice. We are one rain event away from a big crop. 10 day weather outlook: DRY
