30mm of rain mid August was very welcome on these droughty fababeans. It should be enough to carry them to harvest. They are not a big crop for long fallow – only 60cms high, but we’ve only recorded 50mm of incrop rain since planting late April. A little frost damage, although there are podding up well. The trial in the clip above is a GRDC’s National Variety Trial for fababeans. Harvest next month….stay tuned for more news.
