2019 has been the toughest year on record as the drought has deepened for a third year in a row. 50 – 60 mm of rain was recorded across the farms during the calendar year – the lowest ever, and a fraction of the 475 average. This is climate variability at its worst. No crops planted – 2019 will be remembered as a year of non production, howling dust storms and smoke from the biggest bushfires anyone can remember.
We live in hope 2020 will turn around to some kind of normal year. Best wishes, David and Peter Ricardo

Here’s hoping that 2020 is a return to better seasons for the Ricardo family and for all farming families!
